WINTER - SPRING SCHEDULE
Join me for a season of creativity at my home studio or at group workshop venues. Squirrels Nest studio features a forty mile view of the valley from full wall windows. Sky lights at the top of the cathedral ceiling and stone fireplace provide light and warmth. The woodland property has a multitude of natural and introduced specimens. Majestic oaks and maples, a seasonal stream, natural hiking trails, surprises of wildlife and blossoms. Instruction at the studio or at your home/facility. Beginner to advanced students are welcome.

Sumi-e Brush Painting
Learn
traditional Chinese and Japanese brush painting skills with bamboo
brushes, using ground ink on rice paper. Create rich tonal values for
the “Four Gentlemen” - Bamboo, Orchid, Plum and Chrysanthemum and their
basic brush strokes. Beginners start with ink only while intermediate
and advanced students use watercolor and ink. Landscape, animals and
other floral subjects are explored. Materials list and RSRosenthal Sumi-e workbook text available for sale in class. Fee per session plus text and materials.

Expressive Watercolor Tap into your dreams, visions and spirit
to create imaginative paintings using a variety of loose watercolor

Sumi-e Art: Tuesdays, 10:30 am - 3:30 pmA full day of art instruction, critique, creative relaxation. Tea and music included. Limited to 5 students. Fee: $75 for the day. Take four classes for $300

project. Focus on each individuals creative
goal for technque and skill improvement. Each week we work on a new subject or specimen. Beginners in sumi-e work with Rosenthal's Sumi-e Text book 1. Botanical Art students start with pencil, proceeding to watercolor pencil, then watercolor and/or gouache.

Roberta Rosenthal’s botanical art has been featured on invitations for the Annual Luncheon of the Women’s Division American Committee to benefit Shaare Zedek’s Medical Center Women's and Children's Divison in Jerusalem, Israel. Donation of original art for auction. In addition she has created Jewish New Years Cards printed by ArtScroll Printing Corporation for their benefit as well. 1995 - 2004
Roberta donated her art to Maimonides Medical Center for an upcoming auction on December 8, 2002, the Star Project, to benefit the new children's hospital. She created a mask entitled "Star Princess". For more information e-mail Roberta. 11/2002

Jewish Community Center in Tarrytown, New York, Volunteer. Worked with Rabbi Emanual Vinas and a volunteer group to restore a Torah from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The Torah was damaged during Hurricane Mitch in 1998. Worked on the project from beginning to completion. 1998 -1999
