Experimentation, free expression is another side of Roberta's creativity. Often between realistic commissions and representational images she reaches into a free spiritual inner realm connecting her love of spacial confrontation, a place of wildness or peace, mixing innovative color palettes and unique brushstrokes. Not unlike contemporary artists she is beyond and into her center vortex to spark excitement and the viewers imagination.

In the moment” painting is a process I use to release the tension from working on detailed botanical subjects. Freeing my inner spirit, it’s an expression of spontaneity and joy. I love these visits to my innermost self. I work in watercolor, ink, gouache and oil on paper or canvas for expressive paintings. Movement of brush and pigment magically transform as the work develops layer upon layer.
