Landscape

I have always been a traveler. I’ve been all over the continental US, Hawaii, Mexico, Europe and China. Since moving to Sullivan County from New York City I’ve been inspired by the natural beauty of local Catskill area landscapes.  I look for back roads I have not been on to find lakes, rivers and mountain vistas.  I pack art supplies where ever I go. On occasion I expect to paint a landscape only to be inspired by some captivating detail to create a botanical study or abstract image.  My choice of media includes ink, watercolors, gouache and oils on paper or canvas. I begin working plein air outdoors and then may finish the painting in my studio for final touches. Occasionally, a passerby may watch me paint and purchase the painting after waiting for me to complete the work.
